The world's largest toy manufacturer, LEGO Group, announced in a BBC statement that, given the continued extensive disruption in the operating environment, they decided to indefinitely cease business operations in Russia. This after having paused merchandise deliveries since March.
The news of Lego closing in Russia includes the end of employment for the Moscow-based team, which was made up of fewer than 90 people. As well as the termination of the association with Inventive Retail Group (IRG), a company that manages stores on behalf of Lego in Russia.
In the statement Lego said that, although it was Cell Phone Number List ending the employment relationship with the Moscow-based team, it "provided 70 employees with financial packages to support them as they seek new [job] opportunities."

Lego closes in Russia not because of CSR
It is important to mention that the toy manufacturing giant has been one of the last companies to announce its withdrawal after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. However, it was not precisely because of a political stance.
Lego Group stopped delivering products to Russia in March, according to its statement published on the official website . The suspension was due to the "disruption of the operating environment", something similar to what it now comments on its "indefinite cessation of operations"
"When Lego Group stopped shipments to Russia in early March, we also suspended all commercial activity and placed almost all of our employees on extended leave."

In May, Lego was included on a Russian list of products that could still be imported without the consent of the intellectual property owner. This after several major brands suspended their activity in the country due to the military offensive in Ukraine and, partially, in response to Lego stopping deliveries to Russia in March. The same list also included smartphones from Apple and Samsung, as well as some video game consoles.
However, Samsung and Apple previously stated that they would no longer sell products to Russia. The action was a response to Ukraine's request for Apple to stop selling products in Russia. Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov argued that the measure could help Russian youth oppose the invasion. He also called on the company to close its local App Store.

According to the BBC , unlike several companies that have condemned Russia, Lego decided not to comment directly on the country's actions.
